Kodak Ektacolor Pro Gold 400 MC forgotten in Zeiss Ikon Cocarette 517/15
This roll of partially exposed film was found in Zeiss Ikon Cocarette type 517/15 camera that I bought from Uxbridge in the UK. The film is type 120 while the camera uses type 116. The "adaptation" to a smaller size film consisted in dropping the roll into the film compartment and threading the end of the backing paper into the slot of type 116 receiving spool. No spacers or adapters were used and the roll containing unused film was allowed to rattle inside the camera. The unique film transport mechanism of Cocarette took care of the rest.
I respooled the film into a spare type 120 spool and sent it to the lab for processing. Four images were recovered from the roll. The frame spacing was inconsistent with some overlap in the beginning of the film and wide gaps between the frames. Lack of sharpness and distortions near the edges of the frame indicate issues with film flatness. This is hardly surprising given the crude adaptation methods used by the photographer.
